Reception and tasting at retreat site.  Includes wine, hors d’oeuvres, and of course, chocolate.  Get to know your fellow participants in a relaxed and tasty meet and greet.

Fireplace Talk, All About Fish Talk

       The after-dinner fireplace chats are a special bonus of this get-away-from-routine weekend!

 

DAY 2 –Saturday

DAY TWO - Saturday, April 5, 2008

Breakfast at retreat site.

Tour of Sweeter Song Farm in Cedar, Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm.  Hosts: Judy Reinhardt and Jim Schwantes.

11:30 am    

Visit and lunch at Kejara's Bridge Restaurant in Lake Leelanau.

1:00 pm  

Visit to Carlson's Fisheries, Leland / Fishtown.  Bill and Clay Carlson are the fourth and fifth generations of family fishermen working from Leland.  The Carlson’s commitment to their local community in preserving the Fishtown dock and waterfront, and the quality of their fresh fish, make theirs a sustainable food story. 

2:00 pm Shopping and siesta time in charming downtown Leland.
4:00 pm

Cooking class and dinner with

Nancy Krcek Allen, food writer, chef, and teacher.  Relax, cook, and sip with friends over tasty treats at the retreat site.
