TASTINGS & Tours for Bus Tour / Leisure Groups

For bus tour groups, we offer three levels of tour experience.

A special tasting option at many locations [Mount Carroll, Ill., Cedar, Mich. on the Leelanau Peninsula, and Ste. Genevieve, Mo.] year-round.

A one day tour, including two tour stops of farms and food artisans, catered meal, and chef demonstration.  Offered year-round!

A weekend of culinary adventures, customized for the group's interests: chocolates, wild foods, culinary techniques, ethnic cuisines, etc. year-round

About our Tastings option for Groups

Part of the Learn Great Foods mission is to educate consumers about where our food comes from and how it is grown. What better way than to taste the differences in flavor and quality among ingredients of the world!

Tasting options are available for Chocolate, Cheeses, Salts, Oils and Vinegars, and more!  You'll get a rating sheet, and information about the growing practices in different parts of the world and also have the chance to ask local chefs about their use of these delicious ingredients.  This interactive experience will be one you won't soon forget!

And the tastings options include Tomatoes, Lettuces and other delicacies, just-picked from the farm fields.

Tastings are 1-1/2 to 2 hour culinary demonstration and tasting adventures for your group!  Prices range from $15 to $35 per person, depending on the tasting and/or meal option chosen. Up to 60 can be accommodated. Tastings are available at:

-  Mount Carroll, Ill. (Driftless region, Learn Great Foods Kitchen),

-  Cedar, Mich. (Leelanau Peninsula, Sweeter Song Farm), and

-  Ste. Genevieve, Mo. (Mississippi Hills Region).

One-Day Tours - Take a Tasty Break!

Tastings can be customized and paired with a culinary demonstration and meal - lunch, dinner or snack, using that day's fresh-from-the-farm bounty to make innovative culinary creations.  This is the Learn Great Foods culinary farm tour, adapted for larger groups.  Rounding out the tour day is the relaxing al fresco seating where you can sit back and enjoy your gourmet tastings in a truly idyllic atmosphere. The one day tours are six hours of activity, with a maximum of one hour driving between tour stops.  Prices range from $65 to $105 per person, depending on the tour stops and meal (no. and type of courses), and level of guide chosen. Base prices are shown on the registration page, and one day group tours are available at all Learn Great Foods tour locations.  See Culinary Tours page for list of locations and descriptions of places.

Weekend Adventures

The retreat weekends are also available for leisure bus travelers. Wild Foods, All Things Chocolate, 2 Busy 2 Cook, Go Fish! or Culinary Escape itineraries can be customized for group interests and mobility.  The weekend adventures can be accommodated for any days of the week, for example, Monday - Wednesday or Thursday - Saturday, etc. Prices start at $200 per person. Reservations are required. For larger groups than 60, special arrangements can be made.
